Kinsey’s Guide to Effortless Fall Style

It’s finally that time of year where the crisp air beckons those fall coats and layers to make their debut. For me, this is where personal style shines. For others, the layers and struggle to stay warm can seem daunting. Here is some inspo to make getting dressed on those cooler days a little easier.

Tights are your best friend for making the most out of your closet, especially lace and printed ones like these from Swedish Stockings. I love playing with texture and tones this time of year such as this suede jacket, slouchy leather boots from Khaite , and of course the perfect Chloe bag. This formula is easy, effortless, and impeccably chic. The plus side? You probably have a variation of these items already in your closet.

Speaking of personal style, don’t be afraid to experiment with prints! With all of the layers required to stay warm this season, there’s no better time to let your eclectic side out to play. From tapestry inspired totes, the return of the newsboy cap, and everyone’s new favorite neutral, animal print, maximalist style is upon us. Pair the look down with your favorite tee, a loose trouser, and your favorite statement coat like this one from Simkhai (a personal favorite). Don’t forget to add some leather gloves to really elevate the look.

As a Carrie Bradshaw superfan, I absolutely love that sequin skirts are being normalized thanks to brands like Handover. Wear with tights and hot shorts paired with a thermal layer such as the chic cashmere tops from Intimissi for a Carrie approved fall look. This pairing is the perfect mix of playful, sexy, and unexpected.

For my casual girls, this look is for you (me included). I mean let’s be honest, when it’s cold who can really be bothered to be in anything but pajamas. Enter Leset. This brand was made for those days where you want to be comfortable yet still look elevated. All of their pieces are intentionally designed with style in mind. Pair with a cozy fur coat (a must for the season), some sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a tote that hasn’t been cleaned out in probably decades.
